yeah i would just go ahead and get new lines regardless if they're leaking or not. You gotta remember, you're putting bigger calipers on which will clamp with more force. It has a larger piston area and therefore will exert more force on all the other components. So at the BARE minimum, get new OE rubber lines and you'll be set. But for the cost of rubber lines, its only 20 bucks or so more for some decent quality technafit lines. I bought all mine for 105 shipped, which included 6 lines b/c I've got ABS. You can get away with 85 shipped if you just have drums in back, then you'd only need a 4 line kit.

I mean its about time to upgrade lines anyways. Its been a good 17 yrs at least on them if yours is a 93, so I can't imagine the rubber lines would still be OK for even bigger brakes.

no attempt to thrash. just stating that you were giving bad info and i gave my story as a reason why.
factory lines are more than adequate. SS is better. but dont tell somebody that unless their lines are leaking that their hoses are okay.

leaking isn't the only sign of failing lines...I assumed folks would be able to inspect their lines for that and know to look for the other signs....and determine if they are in good shape or not. I tend to think about how I would go about things...not how others MIGHT go about things. My bad.

i have had 5 cars when i got them they were almost 20years old .. i`m 48 now.. i start with replacing all rubber on the cars ..i always do it ..i hate to walk ..people say i spend to much on cars , but mine don`t brake down ..brakes stop you ..very important ..i wish i bought a cb 10 years ago.. i would hate to here about some one getting hurt because they did not replace a part that was old ... i`m going to upgrade my brakes and i`m using new hoses ..

I'm also going down the same road. Already have the 2.3 CL hubs, new brembo blank discs, Hawk HPS pads for the front and rear and braided stainless brake lines. My oem 18 year old rubber lines are fine, but why not put the finishing touches on a brake upgrade project?

I bought the teflon coated brakelines from Techna-Fit. Very impressed with the quality of the materials from them.

i would change the hoses because you never know how bad they are on the inside and with them being that old i would just for the lack of worring later.

Ok so I apparently have everything I need minus the brake pads. Turns out the 97 prelude calipers came equipped with 23T mounting brackets. The last thing on my list to get is brake pads. Everything is being shipped from all over so I hope I can get started this coming week. I have 3 weeks vacation from school so I plan on knocking this out within that time frame. Thanks for everyones helpful words, I'll make sure I take some pictures though out the installation.

definitely get HAWK HPS pads. They stop AMAZINGLY. w/ little to no fade.
