ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    I agree.

And the power band does shift up with the nasty-er cam you get in the F22. This greatly affects the power curve when comparing it to an H22s power curve, even with cams.

I can see the continuation of this plan due to the fact that it's Honda. However, I can't see this coming over to the states due to Obama's new CAFE standards that owequitit mentioned.

With the strict new emissions and fuel economy regulations, Auto companies are really being limited, and I'm not seeing a good future for bigger displacement engines or even gasoline powered engines. It's a new time, and things in the automotive industry are changing rapidly.

They might keep some of the chassis stuff around, but I am nearly 100% certain the engines are gone. Most likely, they will have a new V6 soon, and will probably opt to hybridize it. They are doing a TON of development on hybrids currently, as well as trying make Direct Injection feasible from a reliability standpoint, which is a MAJOR issue that other OEMs aren't talking about yet.

With the new standards, I can understand all the buzz about hybrid development right now. I can't say I agree with it, but that could be because I'm old fashioned, and I'm not really up for all the change. I'm also not a real environmentalist either, but I don't think many automotive guys are.

The hybrid system is going to be more and more common in years to come. The present technology in hybrid development has come very far very quickly. Just look at the Toyota Prius, and how popular it has become.

The point is, most manufacturers are working to engineer vehicles to operate on alternative fuels and more research is being done to make automobiles more environmentally friendly. Big displacement and high output engines are not a concern right now, and they also aren't very popular at this point in time. So manufacturers are spending their time and money on what will sell in the future.

Slightly off topic, but with regard to Acura and the future direction of Honda, the J series is dead.

A new V6 will debut in the near future (probably MY 2012) as the J series has reached its growth limit.

It will be interesting to see what features this engine comes with.

Maybe it'll be a DOHC VTEC V6, instead of the J series' SOHC VTEC V6. Hmmmm, I wonder what they'll call it. L series maybe?
