ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    hard start up

so ive noticed that after sitting for at least 4 or 5 hours, (especially overnight) my h23 swapped 90' accord starts up super rough. it'll start up after holding the key in the start position after about 5 to 10 seconds depending on how long it had been sitting. i always thought it was just because it had been sitting in a cold garage but that was before it was my daily driver. it cranks up but usually dies after idling at about 1000 rpm's but starts up right away when you try a second time. i did notice that a couple of the vacuum hoses are missing but they were like that when i bought it a couple of months ago and it started up just fine so im kind of confused to if it might be a starter issue? i haven't had the time to dig too deep into this issue quite yet but me and my step dad were going to try and figure it out sometime soon now that Ive been kind of looking into my chilton repair manual but i figured id just post this to see if id get any responses.

    -thanks

First, check your Air Boost valve vacuum line connection. It's whole purpose is to help starting when cold. Then check your Fast Idle Thermo Valve (FITV). That valve is what makes your car idle around 1200-1500 when the engine is cold. Last, check your Idle Air Control valve (IACV), which controls the idle speed after the engine is warmed up (ie, it raises the idle speed when you turn on your headlights, or turn the AC on).

hard start can often times be somthing small and simple as a ground wire corroded, you say it takes 5-10 seconds for it to crank did it always take that long or did it recently just slowly start taking longer and longer cause I bet you its a ground if thats the case...
