ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    93 cb7 wont start, help

Hey I got a 93 cb7 sedan. The other day i went to take a liquor serving test for about 1.5 hours and when i went out to leave my car started and i drove to the end of the parking lot and i noticed it wasnt on anymore. battery and oil lights went on. I just had it fully tuned up and my mechanic said it was a champ. AAA towed it to my mechanic and soon as i dropped it off the tow truck it started right up. I left it there anyway and the mechanic started it the next day a whole bunch of times and drove it around and it was driving and starting all day, he called me and said he cant find any problems at all. i picked it up and the same night i went to the store and came out to leave and it was dead again. I towed it home. ( on a side note the next night I had my side markers, cd deck, basketball, and dj mixer stolen!!! WTF!) Still hasnt been able to start. I tried a test a mechanic told me to try by checking for spark and theres spark from every plug wire so its not the dizzzy. Ive been reading around and found out it could be main relay? or Fuel pump, or someone even said clogged fuel filter. I want to take it to a mechanic asap but I dont want them to feed me a load of crap. I need it running, im very busy! Help! Thanks.

Check you battery connections and clean them with a wire brush. Also check all of your ground wires for good connections.

its ur main relay ( check the DIY/common problem fix threads for resoldering instructions ) and yes check your battery connections as well. shake them for looseness.

You said it was "dead again". Does the engine at least turn over? It's just not starting? Or is it not doing anything?

I had an 92 cb7 and i could't figure my CRANK/NO-START problem either. after checking the obvious, my boy came by the house (we'll just call him A.S.E. L7 MASTER TECH for rite now) and not to my suprise a QUICK DIO (15MIN) later he was SURE it was my O-RINGS under the VALVE-COVER. It was a quick $30 fix, and i was back rollin in notime. hope this helps

Have you confirmed that it is a fuel issue, or could it still be a spark issue?

Everyone is giving their diagnosis as if they know exactly what's happening.

If you have no spark, it's most likely the igniter, coil, battery cables, or grounds (usually in that order).

If you have no fuel, the main relay is the first thing to look at. next is the fuel pump, injector resistor box, and the fuel lines themselves.

                    Thanks

Thanks for your input guys. I towed it to my mechanic and gave him a call yesterday and told him to change the main relay and he said last time I brought the car in he tried another main relay and it didnt work. He said I need a distributor, i checked the spark last week and it sparked but he said not enough. So were clear, the car turns over strong just wont start. Ill tell him to clean the battery terminals too, I cant think of anything else I can tell him. I can get a cheap distributor and he wont charge me a lot on labor so its worth a shot. Thanks for all your wonderful comments, I didnt think anyone replied because I thought I was set to receive emails upon reply but turns out thats cardomain not cb7tuner!

                      Thanks again

So my mechanic rebuilt my distributor and ive been driving around for some days now. I didnt realize that you can have spark but not enough. someone told me to do a spark test and I saw a decent one, I guess i didnt know what decent was cause my mechanic checked it and said it was weak. good job.
