ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

This depends who is doing it. If your a pro and have all the parts, 2-3 days. The wiring will take most of your time.

I took almost a whole summer to do mine, as I did most of it myself and had to work and other things. I was also cleaning the engine bay and replacing others rusted parts. There was also the issue of waiting for parts to arrive that had to be ordered which can sometimes take a week or more (depending where you live).

I know people that could start it after breakfast and finish in time for dinner... but they're over here on the right coast.

It depends on your mechanical ability, how much you understand about the task before you start, how well equipped you are (tools and workspace), and how much breaks as you're taking things apart (things WILL break... these are old cars)

yeah, if you've done it a few times and have all the parts there, on hand, less than a day.

I started my swap on Monday, finished on Wednesday or Thursday. I made sure to have the majority of the stuff for the swap on hand before I ever started. I of course had to run to the parts store to get stuff we'd need, like clamps, hoses, fluids, things like that

i helped a friend swap a 2000 h22 motor in his car in a day.we did it the right way and got the obd1 to obd2 conversion harness.just plug every thing in like a normal motor swap.

What's so hard about it? Get the conversion harness, OBD1 injectors, OBD1 dizzy, and OBD1 ECU. Easy enough.

well the thing is im only 18 so i dont have a lot of experience with the technical side of motors so i took it to my dads mechanic to have it done and hes had it there for over a month just sitting there claiming hes having a wiring problem. first what happened was i wanted an h22, and it was funny cuz i was running early to work one day so i stopped by and supposedly he was "going to put the engine in today" and so im thinking okay sweet. i look at the engine and its a fucking f22b. and im like what the fuck this isnt the right engine..."oh really"? yea man look at the engine code. so about a week later he finds another engine and tranny which this time it is a "h22a" and i made sure of that, but hes had the engine and my car sitting there for about 3 weeks claiming hes having a wiring problem, giving me all these deadlines that he NEVER comes through with. he ALWAYS, every fucking time says "it should be up and running by next week" next week comes around, same fucking thing for about a whole month and a half now i havent had my car. i asked him if its an obd problem and he says it is and is guy is working on it. the engine didnt come with a harness so i guess the ordered it and are making adjustments to it.

so to get to the point my question is how long should it take to fabricate this harness to work with my obd2 h22a and what else would i need? different downpipe possibly? i already have the ecu, full engine and trans.
because ive called other shops and they said it should take no more than a day and a half to 2 days so im just thinking that if he doesnt get it in by about wednesday (theres a cb7 meet in santa monica on saturday) that im just gonna pay him for the engine and tranny and have it done somewhere else in 2 days to be done by saturday cuz im getting so fed up with his bullshit deadlines that he gives me so now i think i should give him a deadline this time otherwise ur gonna be out a job. any thoughts/suggestions?

Your best bet is to buy the conversion harness.

if the h22 didnt come with a harness.he could have used the f22 harness and wired the vtec and ran the h22 obd1 ecu.

I'm with this guy. You guys are over complicating things, but since the motor is OBD2 you will need to get OBD1 injectors and distributor. But it is still far less time consuming then removing the resistor box and wiring in an OBD conversion harness.

the way that sounds this guy does not kno what he is doing.there is another way to wire the obd 2 harness to the obd1 h22 ecu.its called swaping pins.basicly u find the wire diagram for both obd 1 and 2 and find out what the pins are for each and swap them.but u should tell him to do like my last thread and tell him to use the f22 harness and the obd 1 h22 ecu garente u the car will run and start.tell him to use the obd 1 h22 dizzy injectors and ecu. this car will live.
