ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    F23a swap questions

I bought my first Honda about 3 months ago. A 91 Honda accord with some issues. The guy didn't take care of it. Anyway the old f22 blew. I found a wrecked 92 accord with a late 90,s f23a ulev v-tec. Thanks to this sight Ive been learning allot. I did the swap and decided to leave my automatic trans in it. The v-tec was hooked to a toggle switch on the wrecked car. I bought a shift light tach and used the light wire to engage my v-tec in at 4k. I know this sounds primitive but remember I am the Honda noob. I welded a new exhaust in with no cat or resignator. It has a short air intake. Just the aftermarket muffler. I did away with the trouble lights and went with aftermarket gauges. Here comes the questions. When I really get on it, it starts to spit up at 4500 rpms. Like its not getting enough fuel. When its been sitting for a long time it takes awhile to start. It runs and idles smooth. If this helps I kept the f22 intake on it.

    What ECU are you running?

That may be a large factor.

Since the F23A1 is an OBD2 motor, it's a pain to use the proper ECU. Look for a P0A ECU from a 94-95 Accord EX. It's made for the F22B1, which is a 2.2L VTEC motor... but it will run your motor MUCH better than the PT3 or PT6 that you're using now! not to mention, you'll be able to wire up VTEC properly, rather than having it hooked to an RPM switch (which, I must say, is innovative to say the least!)

Also, using the injectors from the F22B1 might be a good idea as well... as I'm sure you're using the OBD1 F22A injectors.
