Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    JDM DOHC F22B Power Ratings

    Ok, so I know the JDM F22B makes 166 horsepower and 150 lb-ft to the crank, but what exactly does it make to the wheels? Does anybody know? Also what would it make with an ebay header, test pipe, apexi ws2 cat-back, and SRI? One more thing, does anybody on here have a built NA JDM F22B?

    My JDM F22B DOHC made 152.66whp/147.43wtq.

    Ebay 3in. intake
    Megan header
    WS2 Cat back
    Delta 260 cams
    Maxbore TB/matched plenum
    m2a4 tranny (JDM H22)
    Bisimoto 8.9lbs. flywheel

    Dyno sheet.


    JDM F22B DOHC is more like 160hp/147tq I believe.
    3 CB's gone....
    1 WK Overland....

    Still miss the CB though......maybe one day.

          its all good. i just want to know if its gonna give a noticable pull over my f22a6. i am doing the swap because its relatively cheap and im just curious what to expect. take a look at my other f22b threads as well.

            He ran a F22B DOHC.

                  It should for sure. This is a dyno of my Accord with what basically amounts to the most powerful combination of OEM parts (H23 IM, F22A4 header, A6 cam, stacked IAB plates, PT6 ECU etc).

                      hey man i would also recommend an f23a1 swap. i have that motor in my car and it puts down about 150 hp. its a low compression performance engine and it loves boost! it has really strong iron sleeves so you dont have to worry about those cracking and the stock internals can hold up to 300hp

                        joekt (member on here) has that swap and I RAPED HIM with my DOHC set up and walk him with my single cam.

                        f23A1 NOT impressive. Performance? nope. Unless boosted like you mentioned.

                            It is not a performance engine in any way. It is only slightly better than the F22B1. The SOHC VTEC head design is not good for performance. The ports are crowded and poorly shaped. The valve angle is nowhere near as good as that of the F22A.

                            It has iron sleeves that are not made for boost. It has cast internals that aren't made for boost. It is in NO way a performance engine. Please stop spreading bad information.

                            The F22A is just as capable of holding boost... and we already have it in our cars. It's cheaper to replace when (not if... when) it blows up, and it doesn't require any special consideration to install.





                            As for the F22B DOHC, the head is similar in design to the H23A1. Not identical, but the valve angles and port design are probably very similar, seeing as it's a non-VTEC DOHC head of the same era. It's not a poor performer, but it's also not quite as ideal as the F22A, most likely. For a street car, it has plenty of potential. (all this talk about the "ideal" F22A really only means that it'll make race-car power with enough work... most Honda engines can be modified heavily for street use and not leave their owners wanting)

                              yea, i laughed a little to myself when the f23 was brought up. i know thay they arent the greatest motors and there is no way they make 150 to the wheels. they have a weak vtec and are poorly designed just as the f22b1 sohc vtec motors. im planning on the f22b dohc swap and building it to handle a nice shot of nos just in case. but overall i want a reliable street car that can hold its own when the ricer revs up next to me at a stop light.
