ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    black box thing....

Under the intake manifold there is a black box that the vacuume lines go to from the manifold etc. One of the plastic connectors broke inside the line. I was thinking about plastic weld or even super glue. Im sure it will hold...has anyone else had a similiar problem? Any suggestions? I know the obvious like buy a new one. lol.

if it was a clean break u can try to melt it back together though it would be a bitch to pull but u would have to pull it to replace it n e wais. i suggest melting it with a solder gun, basically making a plastic weld. i wouldnt know what glue to use if u chose that method. scilicone is the only thing i feel safe with at those temps.

I'd recommend hitting a hobby store and getting a small piece of brass or aluminum tubing small enough to fit inside the nipple that broke off. Use some JB weld to repair the break, with the tubing inside to keep you from accidentally sealing the air passage, and you should be fine. The temps under the intake aren't terribly high, and silicone makes a lousy adhesive in situations like this.

I would hit a junkyard and get a replacement box.

Well, it was a clean break. My wife does crafts at home so I raided her stuff. She had a file and some super super glue....I took the box off and filed it a little. Spooged some glue on it and bingo......its fixed. The car is finally running and ready to start driving. Its been sitting for about 10 months. I hope it stays running now. THanks for the replies guys.
