ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Bosch sensors don't work properly for our cars. They aren't wired correctly. Toss it and get an NGK/NTK or Denso sensor. Directly from Honda is your best bet.

I'll pretty much say what deever said. Bosch isn't a good brand to use on Honda cars. NGK or Denso are THE brands to use on a Honda when it comes to electrical components and sensors. If you want to get the car running good again get the proper sensor from a local Honda dealer. And yes in alot of cases a bad o2 sensor will cause the sputtering issues you seem to have.

The fact that your car is running with a CEL could be the very cause if the sputtering that you've been experiencing. Get the O2 sensor fixed with the proper sensor and it will very likely run much better.

thats exactly what it would cause...all those symptoms have to do with the 02 sensor

NDK from a local car parts dealer. Or you can go to Rock Auto and get a denso one.

Does your cel come on shortly after starting your car? within 30 seconds?

                    www.hondaautomotiveparts.com has it for $143, I believe.

They aren't cheap, unfortunately... I wish I had caught you before you wasted money on the Bosch... that just increased the total amount spent on this problem!

NGK or Denso, wherever you can find one. Get one that's made for your particular model. Splicing can affect the resistance (though I assume you've already spliced the wires for the Bosch... so that's probably a moot point...)

Be careful on ebay, or from shady unknown websites. If the price is REALLY cheap, it may be a knockoff. People know that these things are expensive. People know that DIY mechanics don't always have a lot of money, and will often seek the cheapest route. People take advantage of this... and sometimes, they do so very dishonestly.

Better to pay $150 from Honda than $50 from a shady seller, who's really selling you some Chinese knockoff sensor that he picked up for $15 with an NGK logo on it.

That won't help. His Bosch o2 sensor is shot already.

Ok, good. Then at least your wires are still intact. That avoids another potential problem.
