ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Many have talked about this on other forums, trying to run cbr or multiple coils. You could with an aftermarket stand alone ecu. Honda based ecu programs like hondata and all the other chipped programs won't do it because the ecu can only send one coil signal. there are other sensors required as well like a cam angle sensor etc. I found this on another site http://www.nengun.com/ultra/hyper-ignition-system-9980 That could do it, but for $800+ for just this piece isn't really worth it.

In all honesty, you can make 800+ with the stock distributor (from experience) so i'd spend your money else where.

Hmm. Why would you want to do this? I'm interested.

There are a number of high-end standalone engine management systems that use coil packs, or a coil on plug setup. Electromotive's Tec3 system does that.

Other than doing something different, there's really no point to it. If the stock distributor can handle up to 800hp... you'll NEVER need to put down that much! Anything over 600 is damn near unstreetable in a FWD 4 cylinder Honda.

                I have to agree there.

That's a pretty pricey and complicated thing to do for looks though!

In a brief Google search, prices appear to be about $1600.

To do a custom setup using coil packs from other cars, it would probably actually be MORE expensive and problematic in the end. For $1600 or so (a used unit would be cheaper) you'd have a system made to work together, and a high quality standalone as well.

Of course, without the mods needed to make such a system worthwhile, it'd still be a waste.

I never thought about that! Does the wankel use coil packs? How many plugs does it even take?
                    Rotaries fascinate me.

I have coil packs yes lol. You have a leading and a trailing coil pack, and still 4 plugs. 2 per rotor. Two of them for leading and two for trailing.

It's not going to be cheap dude. Check out Bisimoto Engineering website for prices below.

You need engine management like AEM EMS 1040. You need 4 coil on plug (short). You need a CDI, like AEM twinfire. AEM engine position sensor module, replaces dizzy. All adds up, but atleast Bisimoto has a sale on AEM products now. Lastly, you need to be tuned.
