ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Wont start?

So last week I bought a 91 lx with an f22a1 in Virginia Beach and drove it 5 hours back with no problems and even to work a couple days alter. A couple days ago I switched out the valve cover and decided to flush the radiator so I jacked the car up and drained the coolant and added the flush with thermostat and water. I went to start the car to elt it idle to temperature and the car would just turn and turn and not catch. I've tried plug's, wires, dist. cap and rotor button and a new coil. I feel like it's getting fuel as I can smell the fumes and it osunds like the fuel pump is working and it gave no sign of having fuel problems. Any ideas? I feel like it's something obvious I'm just overlooking.

Did you replace the igniter? Everything else that you replaced are things that I would have suggested as well.

Otherwise, check your battery cables. Make sure they're clean and tight, and that the battery is fully charged. A weak battery connection can crank the car, but not start it. I spent $300 on a new battery and starter once, only to find that the only problem was dirty cables!

So I've replaced the whole distributor I wasn't getting spark inside the cap but now I am but it still turns and turns. I bought a fuel filter just in case but I haven't had a chance to change it out. I've also had it jumped off my Civic while trying to start it with no luck still it's really frustrating that it worked just fine and now this and I can't figure it out

if it ain't clicking most likely it's your problem.
not sending signal to your fuel pump .

there's usually a ground that goes from the chassis to the valve cover, did you forget to put it back on? Also, check the firing order.. considering you did something with them

If I'm not mistaken the firing order is the same as my civic d series firing at 1-3-4-2 and they have the same cap so I matched the wires up to that

The new distributor... does it have an igniter and coil installed in it? As far as I know, new distributors don't come with these parts already installed. You have to add them. And if yours are bad, then the new distributor won't do a damn thing.

It will often start with the wires in the wrong place... it'll just run horribly.

Yeah everything is fine ecept the battery is weak from where I've been starting it but I jump it off the Civic to account for that

you confirmed that you're getting sparks, you need to check if you're getting fuel.
just go outside and make sure you're getting fuel

The easiest way to check for fuel is to pull a spark plug, crank it, and see if you smell fuel.

or he can loosen up that extra 17 bolt on the fuel rail and turn on the key and see it literally
