ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Quiet Performance Exhaust.

    I need a new exhaust.

One that is quiet when easy on the engine, but one that will have a little sound when I get on it.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Oh and I've looked around and searched but I haven't found anything that sounds quiet enough.

    Thanks.

Your question is contradictory... quit & performance typically don't go together.

I've always been a fan of Magnaflow. After that WS2.

Pretty much your best bet is going with the WSII. It is highly recommended and isn't it also CARB approved

CARB does not exist on exhausts since after the catalytic converter there are no emissions controls.

Good to know. So I can get any (not too loud) exhaust if I have an appropriate Cat converter?

I have the DC Sports stainless cat-back, now discontinued. The Apexi World Sport is is the closest that I know of. It is fairly quiet, but still wasn't quiet enough for me. Here's what I picked up:

Throw this in place of your cat, get an exhaust like the Apexi, and you'll have one smooth sounding exhaust! I love mine! Do some searching online and you'll find this under a hundred bux.

Yes , a Cat can also resonate a sound but not alone.

Any coffee can exhaust will be loud. The oval (OEM Style) have a bit of sound muffling design in them (ex , Apexi WS2 , RSR , Tsudo SP2 , Greddy SP2 etc).

Magnaflows are a combination of straight flow but in a design of an OEM. As long as your exhaust system have resonators which reduces teh rasp sound and loudness , you'll be fine.

I used to run Magnaflow in the stock pipes , it was quiet. However , when I upgraded to a 2.25 piping without resonators , it became loud , but not annoyingly loud. After that I ran a coffee can , it was noisy.
