ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Want to build my f22a1

i'd like to get pistons, rods, and possibly a crankshaft also. any ideas? i'm thinking wiseco just because some1 gave me a sticker a long time ago and its been on my car forever (ricer-ish i know). not a very good reason to choose internals, but i have little to no knowledge of pistons.

i've thought about both and honestly i'm not sure which i wanna do. i love turbos hands down and have always wanted one but i also love the respect that is given to N/A builders that can hang. However, i guess i'm leaning a little more towards a turbo build.

I would first develop a plan of what your route/goals are that you can afford over a period of time. BE REALISTIC!!

Then, piece together parts NEEDED to make this setup work. Do research on every part, for the best product you can afford.

Pistons and rods will become a part of that list, if you surpass a stock block's capability in your plans.

The OEM crankshaft will suffice, F22ax are forged and capable.

I'm not sure on the H22 or H23 rods... but honestly, there wouldn't be much use for them.

As for Bisimoto products... Bismoto Engineering is the BEST source for all things F22A. Bisi uses an F22A in his pro drag car, so he may possibly know that engine better than the engineers that designed it!

honestly if i was on a budget, id make the stock rods capable of a floating wrist pin. get a set of high compression pistons.

put a big cam and good bolt on's. you'll spend maybe a grand in parts and another 700 in labor?

Like Mr. Phil and Hondafan81 both stated the first things you are going to have to figure out is if you want to go forced induction or stay NA, and to set yourself a budget. Depending on the condition of your motor right now you could buy a turbo kit and tune it and have a pretty decent street car without having to upgrade the internals. But if you are wanting to run higher boost then you will definitely want to upgrade your internal components. The possibilities are endless it just depends on your funding and/or how patient you will be during your build. Either way you decide to go good luck with your build and keep us updated on your progress.

thanks for the info guys! i really want to upgrade internals. i'm leaning a little more towards a turbo build. the reason i asked about the h22 rods working in our engines is because i see this package on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Wisec...Q5fAccessories and they dont have it for the f22. i would go with the 87mm at 8.5:1 and bore my block out to 87. another question, if i do this, would i be able to drive alright with this low compression w/o a turbo right away? i just wanna be able to drive it if my funds run out for some reason.

The F22A's compression ratio in stock form is 8.8:1, so 8.5:1 shouldn't make that big of a difference. It will probably feel (and be) a bit weaker, but it should run well enough.

I'm not 100% sure about the H22 rods, so I'm not going to mislead you with a guess.

You could always contact the company on there that is selling that setup and ask them if they can get F22A rods, and give you the same package deal. If they can, I'm sure they won't turn down a sale!

You may also want to try www.bisimoto.com. Bisi takes good care of CB7tuner members, and you can be sure that you'll always get the right stuff from him.

i cant find the chinese H beam rods on ebay. i got those for about 275 shipped.

i know bisimoto offers H beams and another place offers cheap H beams. i want to go with an I beam rod because the potential 250hp probably wont even exercise the H beam.

depending on the hp estimate, you can probably go with a stock rod with ARP rod bolts. ARP main and ehad bolts are a must.

I would go naturally aspirated with 11.5:1, 86mm forged pistons, a streetable cam and a good tune and that will probably get you between 30-50 horsepower (depending on cam and other bolt-ons) over a stock engine.

Even if you make a ton of power in NA trim you'll not be very happy with it until you change the F-series gearbox's final drive or upgrade to a Prelude or Accord type-R transmission (M2A4, M2F4, M2B4, T2T4 etc.). Just swapping the gearbox will dramatically change your car's acceleration since it's a performance oriented gearbox over the Accord's economy oriented gearbox.

                              Just my 2¢
