ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Rough Idle question!

I know this topic has been covered a thousand and one times. Dont be mad I'm asking this. I got a 92 5sp The car has about 180k. It has a newer rebuilt h22a6 swapped in. Since Ive had the car Ive changed the Battery, alternater, plugs, wires, c/c delete, ac delete-complete. Cap, rotor, all fluids. Fuel/air filter. Adjusted the timing. I cannot get the rough idle to go away. Ive adjusted the air valve with the two screws on top of it, I forgot the name. And the Air valve with the screens in it, They were plugged up, It did help. Recently when it gets good and warmed up the idle will go from Almost dieing to about 12-1300 rpms back and forth.. Whats causing this new idle problem. Its always had a rough idle but it was steady, Now its jumping back and forth. When the car is off idle to 5,500rpms the car runs very good and strong, not a miss or sputter.

There has to be a vacuum leak somewhere, that or your fast idle thermo valve is no good.
    Just my guess.

There is a way to know if your FITV is no good. Remove the air filter tube connected to the plenum and expose the throttle opening. In there should be two holes, when the car is running and warm, there should be no suction coming from either hole. I'm not sure which hole is the one directly connected to the FITV... but you need to put your finger on them and if your idle becomes normal, then its you FITV.

There should be a more detailed writeup about this somewhere on the web. I had nearly the same issue on my F22a1.
Accord 93 LX: H23 intake mani, Ebay short ram, P12 ecu, Full exhaust. Lots of noise... and that's about it, just noise. LOL
Mazdapeed MX-5 04: Begi Intake, Forge BOV, Ebay FMIC. Whoooooooosh... Phhhff!

Since ive had the car it sounds like a vac leak somewhere. I have been all over under the hood looking for a leak, But cant find one. After work i will try the holes by the throttlebody. Is there any spot where our cars are prone to getting a vac leak?
