ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    are sleves worth it ??

i was wonder if it was worth it to get a an h22 blocked sleved because i wanted to run like 10 pounds of boost but a guy was telling me that its not worth it just for 10 pounds..but he told me i should just get good pistons ..and also is it true theres a chance your block can crack when your getting it sleved???

For 10psi... just make sure the engine is healthy, get a properly sized turbo and a good intercooler, and have your ECU tuned REALLY well on a dyno by someone that knows what they're doing. For 10psi on a healthy engine, with correctly sized parts and a good tune, you shouldn't need to open the motor.

Mahle Gold Series pistons are compatible with the H22's sleeves, if you want to go that route. That's not bad advice. The options for compatible pistons are limited, though. That's one reason why most people sleeve H22s for turbo. The FRM sleeves are actually very strong... but most forged pistons will destroy them.

ok so if i did get them sleeved there isnt a chance of the block cracking

With enough abuse, there's ALWAYS that chance... but a good set of sleeves will decrease that chance.

At 10psi, you'd have to do something seriously wrong to crack a sleeve, though. Even the stock sleeves should hold up to 10psi with absolutely no issues. If you don't feel safe boosting your stock block (or it's not healthy), then check into the Mahle Gold Series pistons.

no no it runs good and its just cause its a used motor i dont no what abuse has been done to it so better to go new than to find out a month later plus im buying another block so might as well go new

"runs good" isn't any sort of technical diagnosis. Have a compression and leakdown test performed by a competent mechanic. If it's good... you may be fine boosting the stock motor. Spend your money on quality parts and tuning.

Though if you can afford it, you're right... new is always better, as long as you get the right stuff, and install it properly.

It's be better to find out now and get it fixed before you boost that motor and let it do some real damage. Measure twice, cut once. If you have any problems with the motor right now running NA then putting a turbo on it will only make everything ten times worse. It might cost you some more money to get everything going but in the long run your motor will be alot more reliable and you'll be able to spend more time at the strip instead of in your garage.
