ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Send a PM to Gemini. He knows most of the active Florida crew, so if there's someone that can help you, he'd probably know them. The FL guys are pretty tight knit.

i didnt read the entire thread, im purely spamming to get my last post so i can get out of the newbie area haha.

But Check your wheel bearings. Jack your car up so the front wheels are off the ground and see if they rock vertically back and forth. Or if there is a slight growling sound coming from them.

If they have never been replaced, they are way due.

Strut and springs should all be replace at 50,000 miles.

Which I think every accord on this site has to go through.

I have yet to do it.

well... he did that and he finally ended up here !! he got the suspension taken care of now. Got some new KYB-GR2 shocks up front with skunk2 springs. i think the drop is about 2" and left the rear struts stock... he thought they were ok but come to find out they are bad too. He is goin to be coming back for the rears once he can get them. Had one set back on the back which is not uncommon on northern cars... the damn bolt was seized to the bushing which in hand spun the bushing inside the lower control arm. Going to be replacing all that later. Just another satisfied customer of CRZY.TUNING !!

Big props to you guys for all of the work on the car today! The thing rides great accept for the slight bounce in the rear , but were going to take care of that. I believe I measured 24 inches from the ground to all four fender wells. I already had some kid at the gas station tell me that my car was "dope". Ill let you know when i get my hands on some struts and bushings for the back.
              Thanks Again!!

Don't change anything unless it needs changing (either because it's worn out or you want to change the ride / handling), and just because the dampers and springs have done X miles doesn't mean they need replacing.

It's not unlikely that the dampers might need replacing at 50,0000 miles (especialy if they are cheaper aftermarket replacements, as opposed to Koni or Bilstein...), but it's not a given.

The springs will be quite unlikely to need replacing, but if the ride height looks uneven then you might take them both out (i.e. both front or both rear) and compare each spring in the pair for equal 'free length'. If they are equally long (to within a few millimetres) then they are most likely fine.

They may possibly (but possibly not) have both significantly sagged over time (i.e. lost free length), and may have done so more or less equally with each spring of a pair, but if you are happy with the ride height then this isn't an issue. This is because despite having shortened, their spring rate will have remained the same. Note that if the chassis were at a somewhat reduced ride height, the tendency to bottom out would be increased, which might lead some to incorrectly assume that the spring rate had decreased.

My CB7 is on the OE springs, now 18 yeas old. Without actually measuring it the ride height is visually fine (doesn't appear lower than stock), and the last time I had the springs out (a few weeks ago) each spring of each spring pair matched it's mate within 1mm. The OE Honda springs are very good quality.

On the other hand, if the springs are not OE and are not of the highest quality then over time they may well be more likely to sag enough to cause a ride height problem (especially if they were lowering springs to start with), though the spring rate will remain the same.
                Regards from Oz,
                John.
