ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Rebuling. few Honda "?"s

well few "?" i have really didn't come up with any info from searching. so when i change the head gasket do these motors have torq-to-yield bolts? (can only be torqued once then you need new ones) then do u need a puller to remove the crank pulley or is it pop on and off? i come from a Chevrolet dealer, and im referring to there motors. and i have all of my parts coming but i want to have everything set up and planed so i can get it done Asap also for the ones that have rebuilt or re ringed the f22a anything i should look out for? any problems you ran into?

The head bolts are not torque to yield, you are safe to re-use them. The crank pulley is also slip-fit, no need for a puller unless it's stuck due to corrosion.

ive stripped headbolts before, thats not fun but they are only a bitch if they get overheated real bad.

recommend reconditioning the rods because hondas like to throw rod bearings.
oil pump: inspect or replace but inspect first because they arent cheap

upon assembly: make the valve lash tight
-torque oil pan and valve cover bolts/nuts to around 6 ft-lbs and not the 8-10 like the manual says.

so another thing guys. i did a compression test 2 times, the first time i got the reading from the 3rd pump and the second time threw i check peak compression and this is what i found.

          #1 183psi peak 214psi
          #2 150psi peak 173psi
          #3 185psi peak 211psi
          #4 180psi peak 212psi

so i got low compression on number 2 and that plug was black so now we wait for rings and seals

looks like that maybe a valve didn't seat right in #2 cylinder !! that is the first thing that comes to mind...

also ... you can put a capful of tranny oil in the #2 cylinder and see if the compression comes up .. and if it does then its in the head and if it don't then it has something to do with the rings. !!

              Wouldn't it be the opposite?

                    go to sleep jacob... lol

if u add a lubricant to the cylinder.. and compression rises.. that means theres too much clearance between the rings/cylinder wall.. aka blowby..

raised compression means ur rings are worn out..
