ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Wow... I lucked out with mine then! Maybe the price of metal going up has made rotors more expensive. I suppose that would make sense...

theres a tool you use to measure the remaining "thickness" of the rotor and it doesn't meet DOT requirements, the surface of the rotor is really chewed up, when i say chewed up it looks like the surface of an old vinyl record.

you can take them off and take them to a shop to have them turn them and they will tell you if they are far too gone to use them anymore.

as for warped rotors, i haven't seen that problem before so i can't tell you how it feels when you're driving.

          thanks for the reply,

right now my situation is that my rotors are done on the honda and the car is sitting outside in the streets.
i dont drive the car that much only once once a week or two (pleasure ride). i keep my daily in the garage because i depend on it to go to work.
im afraid if i get new rotors it will rust up like my now ones due to not driving it much.
but if i dont get new ones, i wont have it when i want to drive.

          idk what to do.

look up the minimum thickness and measure that w/ a caliper. For my Acura Vigor brakes its 21mm, same as the prelude VTEC setup.

Brembos are good though, I've had mine on for about 20k miles since April 08' Paired them up w/ Hawk HPS pads and SS lines. I got them at this place called www.importrp.com for only 40 bucks a piece. They're more expensive now, probably due to the economy (58 a piece) for brembo blanks. They do have other ones that cost about 30 a piece, but I'd highly recommend Brembo for rotors. Mine aren't even warped at all and I occasionally stop from 100+mph speeds. That could be due to the pad material though...Hawk pads are WAY better than OEM pads in stopping, they don't fade nearly as easily.

I just checked and for Brembo blanks, they're 36 a piece for CB7s, not a bad price

it's only surface rust...it wont hurt nothing. you want to get a good set so that if they ever do warp, just bring it to a shop that has an on car lathe and they'll resurface them on car.
