ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Brembo "blanks"

now when you guys say "blanks", those are just the OE spec rotors correct?

They normally come in a red box?

i really wanted to mate my EBC pads to their rotors BUT no one seems to have any in stock within the US currently and i don't feel comfortable forking out 150 bucks for slotted or dimpled ones.

So Brembo is next on my list.

    they are great!

yup OE spec but i believe it a lot better than OE. It doesn't easily warp like OEM and Aftermarket

I've seen Brembo blanks for $50 a pair. CB rotors, though... CL rotors may cost more. The price you pay for ROH convenience!

I'm not a fan of EBC pads. My 86 hatchback has brand new Brembo rotors in the front, and a brand new EBC Green Stuff pad fell apart and pretty much destroyed one of them. The pad material fell off and it was metal on metal.

                        Its an 03 mach 1.

From the link Leung gave me they are around $63 or so for the fronts and $34ish for the rear.

If you can find me any cheaper ones I'd appreciate it.

I don't want to pay $550 for slotted rotors all around just yet,
and I do not want to get ripped off by a Ford dealership, if what they are going to give me is Brembo brakes which I can find cheaper.

hmm that sucks. did you warranty them out? i've heard nothing but good things about EBC brake pads that's why i chose them over the other brands and OE spec.

Ive debated getting some Brembo Blanks, but was looking for reviews. Some said im better off spending money on OEM rotors, others say theyre crappy, some say theyre wonderful. Price isnt so much an issue with me as it is, experience and issues.

                              Car: 1997 Honda Accord EX-V6
                              Chassis: CE6

I had problems with brake fade and heat damage on OE rotors and at the time could not afford anything more expensive than the cheapest rotors NAPA had to offer. The NAPA cheapos lasted less than two years (May '06 to March '08). The cheapo NAPA rotors where so heat damaged the surface formed 0.5mm wide cracks. In March '08, I finally purchased Brembo blanks and by Jan '09 I was already resurfacing them, but that was a result of driving back from Orlando with the Cruise Control set to 115mph and braking for traffic periodically; i.e. I was slowing from 115mph to 60mph repeatedly. Now it's Sep '09, I am still on the same Brembo blanks from March '08 (resurfaced in Jan '09), but they need to be resurfaced again. It isn't as bad as after my Orlando trip, but I'm starting to get the "steering wheel 'palsy" again. Keep in mind that I am really hard on my brakes (drives my wife nuts) and my EX-V6 tips the scales at 4,220 lbs; whereas your CB only weights 2,734 lbs (5-spd) or 2,800 lbs (auto).

At this point, I am thinking of Brembo Slotted Rotors* or driving slower.

                              * I spoke with Brad in the Brembo Performance Division shortly after '07 SEMA. He suggested Brembo slotted rotors for my situation: CE6, excessive heat damage, etc. Brad did admit that the slotted rotors would "chew" through my brake pads at a rate markedly greater than the Brembo blanks. Back in '08, that information played a big role in my choosing the blanks over the slotted rotors.

And I only weight 180 lbs (6'0") so my braking whoas are not 'cause of a heavy driver.
