ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Tranny wont shift!!!

ok, i bought my car a week ago, its a 1990 accord lx, 197,000 miles for $500 bucks, engine is great xcept for the relay not wrking sometimes, gna fix that soon. but my big concern is the tranny doesnt seem to shift out of 1st unless i go way up to 4000 rpm and let off the gas, then it engages 2nd 3rd and 4th but if u press the gass hard like to pass someone it just revs up and wen it comes back dwn it goes back to wtver gear it was in , sport shift does not wrk, cant manualy go to 2nd, i seen a lot of diff explinations for this, like the solenoids, so i got new ones (the upper and lower ), i also replaced the tcu/tcm just in case, i get no codes, tried that, ressetting, chnging fluid, still no thing.I heard it could be a stuck valve in the valve body, i dunno wut else do i chk for??

check your tranny fluid level. I know you said you changed fluid, but did you put enough in?

Got a similar problem. Did you try the VSS too?

Is there a way to test valves and solinoids?

yea ill give u a link to a good page, i havent tried the vss though, ddnt think i needed too since the speedo wrks, someone told me to chk the throtle pressure cable that connects from the throtle body to the tranny and make sure that it moves freely on the tranny. and to flush the tranny.gna try this tmrw.lemme kknw if the site helped out.

Well I gave up and called the shop and it got towed there and they are going to look at it.. I will let you all know what it was... I am thinking a stuck solenoid or valve. Going to suck for sure!

one of my boys was having a similar problem ,turned out to be a bad TCU .
replaced it and everything was fine.
but it could be few things( bad tranny solenoid, bad TCU,or tranny filter is clogged up)
78% of the times when we rebuilt a tranny at the shop,it's always end up being a clogged up filter.

i'd say see if you can borrow a TCU from a friend and try it on .
just to eliminate that possibility before doing anything else

I replaced the tcu and tried another one, i changed the oil 3 times alrdy and changed all sensors on the tranny,i think its gna be a stuck valve in the valve body, or possible dirty filter.
