Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Msd Cap Kit

    Im going to do a tune up on my cb7 and i came across this kit from msd that i found on ebay. It has the cables, distributor cap, rotor, spark plugs and it seems to have a small capacitor. i have no idea how to connect this and im not sure what it is for. I have done some research but i havent been able to understand it. Can anyone help me with what this kit would do for my car?

    The "kit" is not from MSD. Only the blaster coil is from MSD and the plugs are from NGK. The rest of the kit comes from "Vision Motorworks" whoever the hell they are.

    Basically, a MSD blaster coil is meant to work in conjunction with a MSD capacitive discharge brick. A blaster coil is looking for an input of like 500 volts from a MSD brick and will only be getting aroung 50 volts from the stock Honda system. It will work but a blaster coil by itself will not gain you anything. The NGK plugs are fine but I have no idea who "Vision Motorworks" is and if their products are any good.

    I would pass on this "kit" if I were you.

        That capacitor is the ignition coil.

        You don't need to upgrade your ignition system. There's no point in buying this kit. It won't do anything for you. Just get the correct replacement parts. The stock ignition system is just fine for stock motors, or mild performance builds. You won't need anything better until you at least double the stock horsepower output.
