ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

try cleaning the throttle body, I had a problem with surges in reverse--felt like I was pushing the gas but i wasnt.

i'd also check your throttle cable wire, maybe it's slacking or damaged. I had a friend adjust my cable and the surging stopped :o.

running rich, are you throwing any check engine light codes?

Some thoughts without thinking too deeply: Check the timing with a timing light and if it's advanced put it back spot on. The timing could be too far advanced. That pop sound could be detonation in the cylinder due to having an improperly tuned (for the conditions) ecu.

As to the surging, if you cleaned the iacv valve already, make sure that it adjusted back to the right setting. There's like a screw or setting in it that after you clean the carbon out, you need to reset for it to act like a clean iacv, or so I've heard (someone posted about how to do this a month or so ago--try the search function on iacv and reset or setting or screw.)

have to sign off for now, i'll check back later.

no you go to the passenger side foot well and pop off the little cover on teh right side.

then take a aper clip, insert it into the connector and look at the light. I forget what the long light and the short lights mean...but they do tell you

or you could just go to auto zone and have them pull the codes.

no, you dont just pop off the intake...you go to the IAC valve and you clean it. its located on the right side of the intake...google Iac valve for your yea honda...clean it and the surging youre experiencing should cease.

          good luck.

            he already cleaned the IACV.

i'd clean the throttle body and cable if you experience what I mentioned, car just gases itself.
