ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Lowering Springs or Coilovers!

Sure there are some ok ones...but they are lowering springs and they are not meant to give you the "raceable" ride that coilovers are generally designed for.
lowering springs = looks
coilovers = function
NOW...there ARE "coilover" knockoffs...and some really cheap ass coilovers...but in general, true coilovers will give you much more performance capabilities than lowering springs. Plus...their shocks are designed around the height alterations...lowersprings...not so.
For FULLY adjustable coilovers don't expect to spend less than a grand, more likely over $1500. Or you can get neuspeeds super cup kit which has only 3 height adjustments, but is a very good suspension setup for around 600. But FULLY adjustable...VERY pricey.
Lowering springs are for looks to slam your ride? Coilovers traditionally go lower than springs last time I checked.
Also, that is not necessarily true. Lowering springs are traditionally softer than coilovers, so the coilovers have a higher performance factor, but what if I custom wound a 12kg lowering spring and paired it with a Koni yellow or bilstein shock? It would outperform many, many coilovers out there for the cb, simply because the quality of the dampers on the coilovers aren't as good.
Another thing, ground controls' design isn't much different from "cheap" ebay springs other than the locking allen head screw. If you found a cheap ebay coilover sleeve with the perches cnc'd from t6(same as GC) and the springs were made using the same steel, then you're really only looking at a difference in spring rates. I believe that a main reason why people say cheap ebay sleeves ride like crap is just because they don't pair them with appropriate shocks. Everyone I see with such cheap sleeves is running them on stock shocks or gr2s...don't get me wrong, I'll never buy ebay sleeves, nor am I promoting them, but it just seems like people aren't giving them a proper chance. I want to tell you to not cheap out like Deev is, but I, like him, am starting to learn people are going to do what they want anyway.
Now, most ebay brands aren't made with the same quality materials...but my point is to look into materials and methods of manufacture rather than just hearing "this brand is good, this brand is bad" make your own opinion, because everyone else has one.Last edited by mndude07; 09-08-2009, 03:02 PM.There are no black and white suspension answers!!!!!!!!!!!
