ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

x2 on the downpipe, and it would get you gains but i do not know if it is noticeable.

A4 header is a tubular design. The A1 and A6 are both cast manifolds. So, yes, The A4 will flow better.

The F22A1 and F22A4 are 100% identical in every aspect other than the exhaust manifold. There is a 5hp difference between the two engines. Therefore, the F22A4 should give somewhere near 5hp. The gains may be a bit less due to the age and condition of your engine.

Deev could some of that 5 HP also come from the exhaust system? I know my 90 EX has a different exhaust with bigger piping and dual tip muffler. I'm not sure if any models that come with a A1 have the exhaust that EX's come with. Is the exhaust system even classified under a engine part?

Sorry Mike, I just saw this.
I don't believe the piping is any larger... I could be wrong, though. The muffler has a dual outlet, but I don't know if that makes any difference in power. I suppose it's possible, but the majority of the difference is most certainly in the manifold.

Also, the F22A6 manifold, although it is cast, is still a much better design than the f22A1 manifold. There is no evidence that says the F22A4 manifold will outflow the F22A6 manifold. It MIGHT, but if it does, it won't be a 5hp gain.

VTEC has to do with a change in cam lobe profile. Having an exhaust manifold that flows more freely is pretty unrelated.
