ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    replacing radiator

i have no experience but i got a Hayne's manual. lol i read it and it seems pretty easy, only problem is i can't jack it up. this should be no problem right?

oh and any suggestions or anything to make this easier?

    Should be fairly easy ,

is the car auto or manual?

(suggestion )Drain the coolant out first

replacing a radiator should be a 4 on a scale of 1 to 10(hardest), that depending on how corroded the bolts holding on the fans and if you crack any hoses while removing them.

Don't forget to have extra 50/50 pre-mixed coolant on hand before doing this. Also keep your pets indoor so that they aren't attracted by the sweet scent, it's poisonious to them.

it's pretty easy just follow the manual ,as you go you'll figure out how easy it is.

i recommend using 50/50 No water unless it's an emergency

I think the only tools you will need is a 10mm wrench and socket w/ rachet, drainpain, channel locks (makes getting rad. hoses off easy. Just grab the hose and twist, just don't squeeze to tight. Also never buy the 50/50 mix it's a waste of money. Just get one or two and fill the rest with water. Another thing would be to get some new clamps, the stock one are a bitch.

it was a complate fail. i don't see how this could be done with out a jack and a good tool set (mine are shitty no name brand, they barely fit onto anything)

what happend? where you using the right size socket/wrench? my tool set cost me $20 at target and it gets the job done.

putting in a new radiator is pretty basic. as long as you have a drain pan that is low enough, you shouldn't even have to jack the car up. i have done it that way on a jetta and a civic.

I can't get to the bottom screws of the fans from the top of the bay or the bottom hose from top or bottom because of the splash pan, which i'd need to jack it up to take off.

and i think these were like ten dollars at wal mart. i don't really know, they were given to me.

They are 10mm, use a wrench.

is your car lowered where you can't get a jack under it? you could do it the urban method where you drive one side of the car up on a curb and then block off the wheels along with using the hand brake. that'll give you room to crawl under but once you start draining coolant i wouldn't start the car till you finish the job.

no need to raise it. the only reason you would need to is so you can get a pan under there to catch the draining coolant unless you have a pan you can get under the car just how it sits

pull the radiator off WITH the fans still on it. you can then take the fan off when the whole assembly is out of car...
