ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

134a doesnt cool the car. Might be a condenser issue.

I had my 91 CB7 retrofitted to the 134a system.

Had to refill my 134a yesterday and the fan is still blowing non-cool air. Even after taking the car out for a drive.

Im pretty sure the compressor works, because the tubes are cool to the touch.

I was told that the condenser (whats a condenser?) might need cleaning. And in order to do that I would have to get behind the glove compartment.

What are your thoughts on this? And if it is the way to go, any step by steps on opening up the glove area to get to the condenser?

    Thanks

see if the comp cycle (clutch go on and off), check if you have 1 hose cold (big one) and the smallest should be hot before the condenseur and warm beteewn the condenseur and the evaporator. maybe your water valve stuck at hot position? or half way...are you sure you have enough of r-134a in your system?

      Thanks for the insights mecanix

The clutch works (as what the mechanic tells me).

      Which is the evaporator?

And how do I check the water valve?

And yes, I have enough of the 134a; just did a refill and they checked with a gauge.

the condensor is near the radiator (outside), evaporator is inside near the heater core. to check the water, put the heat control at cold, warm up the engine, check after the water valve if the hose is cold or hot, if hot, the water valve is broke, on mine, the little shaft inside broke and the valve stuck open.

Thanks Robert. This isnt specific to the CB7 model is it? But should give me a good overall idea how to get there.

              Thanks for the link.

you don't need to go there, the water valve is in the engine bay right side on the firewall where the hose go inside....
