ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Camshaft swap help?

I have a 91 accord lx But I want to swap the cam to the 93 ex because I have heard you can make more power.
Do I need to swap the ecu too or will it work fine with mine?
Also do I need the cam bearings for the 93 ex or for mine?
should the bolts for the rocker arms and stuff be tightened to the 93 ex Specs. or to mine?
Also is there anything else I need to worry about or change to make sure it runs properly?
It would help me a great deal if someone could give me some answers soon or lead me to some answers.

    Thanx in advance!

Not much right now maybe $200 or 300 right now...
I need to start saving money back so I can get out of my parents house soon.
But I want to do some small things before I leave cause we have enough tools here to do whatever you want to a car.

An A6 cam shouldn't cost you too much... If everything is in good shape, you shouldn't need to replace anything but worn seals (which are good to replace anyway). I don't know the specs offhand, but they should be the same for the two engines. If they differ, I'd go with the A6 specs... but I'd wait for someone else's suggestion here, as I'm not certain.

Get the intake manifold, ECU, and F22A4 exahaust manifold for the most power you can make with stock F22A parts. The H23A intake manifold also fits, which gives a better gain. You'll definitely want the PT6 (F22A6 ECU)

I'm going to have to take my valve cover off and I was still thinking about this but I havent had anyone give me instruction on what I need to do exactly. So I was woundering if anyone had any ideals still or if someone else has done this so I can ask them about it.

Just get a p12 ECU. That will give you about 10hp right there which is only 5 below the EX. A cam swap is alot more involved then an ECU swap.

Deev gave you the best info, especially if you're looking at doing it for as cheap as possible.

I picked up an A6 cam for $35.
Then picked up an A6 intake manifold for another $35 and a H23 manifold for $50 and combined the two to make a hybrid intake manifold with the H23 throttle body.
Then tossed in a PT6 ECU for another $30... very happy with the results.

And just a heads up, if you are going to go through the hassle of swapping cams, replace the lower spark plug tube seals. People seem to always forget to replace them then about a month down the road a thread gets started with the title "Oil in the spark plug tubes - HELP!".

Changing the ECU is way easier than changing the cam(that's not very hard either) plug and play 10hp.How much hp gain does the A6 cam give?
                I know....I'm gunna lower it

F22A6 cam is for the PT6 ECU, just using the ECU doesn't work.
That ECU controls fuel injectors to be timed perfectly with the cam.

I just swapped over to A6 Cam and PT6. I aint that impressed.
BUt hell yeah delete the balance belt. Much more free revving.....

The cam and ECU alone will get you MAYBE 5hp... so yeah, not very impressive. The intake manifold and exhaust manifold along with it will get you a total of roughly 15hp. Still not really all that much.
