ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    ex wont start

okay so every now and then, like once or twice every two weeks or so my 92 ex will not turn over. it just tries and tries... eventually if i wait like 5 - 10 minutes after the first try, it'll crank right up but sometimes like today it takes 30 minutes..... i replaced the starter. the guy i bought it from, my brother, said it's been doing this ever since he had it and he's talked to people with the same car who say theirs does the same. he's taken it to a shop and they couldn't find the problem. it'd always crank right up at the shop.

    any ideas?
sorry for the run ons, i'm a stoner.

    Replace the main relay.
I was having similar troubles, and that's all it was. They are also known to be problematic in our cars.

A new main relay will cost about $40, you can repair the main relay you have by resoldering all the components (capacitors, resisters, etc) yourself, or by someone who knows how to. Use a desoldering iron or solder wick to remove the old solder (do it one component at a time), and solder the component back on (provided it doesn't looked burned/damaged/unusable).

Under the driver side dash. It's above a grey metal plate.

If you simply buy a new one, it'll take all of about 10 mins to replace.

Once that plate is removed, you just unplug the old relay, plug the new one in.

It will be underneath the cruise control box, which you'll have to remove in order to get the pgfi main relay. Hardest part is getting yourself under the dash to see, and still be able to use a socket wrench.
