Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

Car turns off ...

    Car turns off ...

    I have a 90 Dx. I ll try and be as discriptive as possible...

    I can turn the car on, car idles fine. When i drive itll be fine for a bit then out of nowhere itll just turn off , it will just die out if i give it gas itll just putt putt and still turn off ... I can turn it right back on tho without an issue...

    ALso when i come to stop after driving itll slowly drop idle till it dies out... Only light that comes on when it dies out is the oil light... Again.. ill turn it on and its fine...

    Ive cleaned out the IAC, ive deleted the water from going into the TB and IAC and ther other peace after the IAC. Not sure what its called... After i did this the car was better.... i went to the parts store it droped rpms to about 500 maybe 400 rpms but it didnt turn off it came right back up... On my way back from the auto parts store its back to doing the same thing again...


    I have Fuel pressure, Disstributor cap is fine so is the rotor and cables and spark plugs.... Ive left the car on and moved every wire harnes and plug i can find and still cant seem to find the issue... any thoughts? Please help this is really annouying and im sure its bad for the starter...

    Do a compression TEST(highly recommended that)
    if it turns out fine then
    Check your Oxygen sensor .
    check your injectors.

      may want to put that back the way it was,
      i say try that and c if it helps

      i think that may be ur prob, that affects idle a lot...
      just my 2 cents

        Fuel Pump is my guess...

        Cause if your CB is driving fine and then just stops running ( or stalls out) then its somewhere between the injectors and the fuel pump.

          K I do have a small list of things to replace fuel pump is one of them... Could the oil have anything to do with this? I parked the car by my window under a tree to work on it... thing is to get there i have to go up a steep mound... when i had the car at a / kinda angle lol not flat but the rear end was basicly lifted up about 3 feet the car did the same exact thing it does when i come to a stop.. so im leaning towards fluid.. like RagingAsian mentioned fuel could the fuel pump somehow not pump gass as im coming to a stop? since liquid moves foward as i stop... or could it be the Oil moveing foward... I honestly havent been driving the car much cause one i just got the tag today and put it under my name and two the oil is SUPER SUPER nasty.. almost fudge like.. so thats my number one priority changing the oil maybe i can get to it tomorrow... But you guys think that could have something to do with it.. Like something in the oil pan or my oil pump going bad so as i come to a stop it cant pump oil ?

            i dont think the oil would have anything to do with it dieing out like that......but there be a CEL if there was anything wrong with the fuel injectoers i would think sounds like it could be an ignitor also check ur fuel pressure

              Ok everyone i found out what it is.. Its somehow the fuel pump... I filled up the tank toped it off completely today.. car hasnt done it since... hesitates when i floor it but doesnt turn off when i come to s stop or am at a slant... So there you have it.. Problem solved keep my gas tank full lol...

              I dig into it on the weekend see exacly why its doing that and ill post up...

                OK guys i found out exacly what it was.... For somereason the previous owner had put diesel in the gas tank... I droped the gas tank and sure enough i couldnt see through the fluid inside... I drained EVERYTHING! into two buckets.... ALong with the diesel im sure was some water cause the car had no gas cap when i bought it. car runs PERFECT NOW WOOO HOOOO no more issues.. My first few mods or bolt ons are going to be fuel related.. Fuel rail, injectors, filter and pump... Completely new... What size injectors should i go with that would be better then stock . Future plans are a full engine rebuild...
