ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

custom larger exhaust from a local shop should be ~400

quick is relative, if your looking for straight line speed... you need $$, and a turbo kit is the best bang for the buck, but still expensive, time comsuming, increased maintance, and requires a good deal of knowledge, and resources (tuning, chipping, welding and fab)

if you want go fast in turns then nice summer tires and lightweight rims will give you the ability to carve some corners, if you take it easy the stock suspension will be fine, but if you get really aggressive (auto-x or stupid, idiotic street stunts) you may want to upgrade shocks and springs.

the things that make a diffrence in an aged car such as ours sometimes are not speed related, such as all 4 wheel bearings, and a caliper pin lube will free up some MPG and acceleration, check the ebrake adjustment, a good oil (opinion: i like castrol gtx, snd mobil 1 synthetic), plugs... maybe a seafoam job if you got highmilage.

these are things that wont do much but will overall limit the amount of horsepower you loose and keep the engine in good running condition.
Engines hate me... thats why they commit suicide

Quick and cheap are 2 words that simply don't go together.
You can build a quick car, but then you need to do suspension and brake upgrades which cost more.

Car Safety / General Servicing Checks --------Basic suspension checks

A "Finished" project car is never finished until its been sold.

If at first you don't succeed, Try again. Don't give up too easily, persistance pays off in the end.

i mean im not lookin for a 360 hp beast or nothin... i jus want a quick daily driver. and money is an issue cause i get paid minimum wage and i have bills...

i plan on a full exhaust, headers to tip, new sparks/wires, clean and polish the block and internals, new brake and suspension systems, lip kit, spoiler and splitters, and maybe some interior work. but what else could i do in terms of maintenance to get it runnin like new?

The way i look at it is...its more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow. Have you thought about something as simple as weight reduction?
