ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Shake and Brake?

For the last month or so (only had the car about 2 months) Ive noticed when I hit the brakes at almost any speed the wheel will mover back and forth a tinny bit, which lately is a bit more, but its not all the time, just every now and then lol. I can also here kind of a knock when its rocking back and forth.

Last week I replaced upper control arms with ball joints and sway bar end links with bushings. Still seems to do it off and on. .
I have the lower ball joints and inner/outter tie rod ends, just not installed. They didnt look too bad.

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas of what it may be? Could it be the brakes where I only feel it as im braking? Normal driving is tight, seems to drive nice. I just dont know what to check next, lol.

Your brake rotors are warped. Thats why its only shaking when you apply pressure on the brake pedal. Replace them and it should go away.

Also check the condition of your shocks. Brake rotors are the most likely cause of shaking when applying the brakes, but blown or nearly blown shocks will also cause some weird things to happen.

I would say replace your break pads and have your rotors turned I know here the Shucks/O'Reilly pro shops will turn rotors and drums for 15.00 each its worth it I had a Ford Probe that felt like I had ABS and had the rotors and drums turned slapped new pads and shoes on it and no more ABS feeling. Hope this helps

Do they turn the rotors ON the vehicle? It's a fairly involved process to remove the rotors from our cars. If you're going to take them off, it's best to just replace them.

No you do have to take them off and bring them in. I do agree with you Dee but when money is tight you turn them and I really didnt want to drop more money in the Probe but it did solve my break studdar issue.

$30 to resurface the rotors, or $50 for some quality Brembo blanks. I'd pay the extra $20 for quality that will last, rather than trying to milk life from some already damaged discs.

Thanks for all the suggestions, i love this forum, lol. I'll prob pick up some brembo rotors, my roommate works at a parts distributor so I can get stuff pretty cheap. Can anyone suggest some good rotors and pads?

And are Coupe and Sedan rotors the same?

Coupe and sedan rotors are the same. I believe wagon rotors are bigger, and require the wagon caliper bracket (which is a nice upgrade).

You might want to check out the ROH conversion on TASauto.com. Our rotor design is a bitch to change.

Brembo pads and rotors are both very good. I was at a meet today where Hawk pads were the topic of discussion, and they are very well liked as well.

How hard would the ROH conversion be?, kinda expensive too.
And is there another car that I take brakes from, if so whats the best option?

The ROH conversion is probably easier than putting things back together as they are now.

Other options... if you have to ask about difficulty of the ROH, other options probably aren't for you. A wagon upgrade would be about all I would suggest.

I dont mind it being hard to do, just like a heads up, and wanna make sure I have the tools I need. I like a challenge, lol and the learning phase is always good too.

If you're going to do the ROH, then opt for the big brake kit. And don't get cross-drilled... they'll crack.

It depends on how you drive... I've had cross drilled Brembos since 2004. Put about 50,000 miles on them. Not a single problem.

Then again, you don't ever NEED cross drilled rotors... and the chance that they'll crack IS higher.. so there's no point.
