ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

HELP cb7 92 clutch or tranny problems?

my cb7 having some problems.. when its in idle and i can make shifts to any gear without pressing the clutch. you can see in this clip that it has no pull at all and it just revs as if i was in neutral.. when it went bad something was smelling wrong maybe it was the clutch that got stuck on the tranny.. idk??.. the clutch itself handles as it was before its not loosen or anything.. and the tranny has no problems on letting a shift go in so im not sure wat it is.. i need help on this one i dont want my car go to waste

this is the link for the video.. the audio isnt that good but i dont think it matters that much

your axle may not be in the transmission properly. may be loose or not snapped in. saw this problem beore but it was in my friends automatic accord.. not 5spd

If you smelled something funny... that was probably your clutch frying. It stinks.

Either a clutch (toast) or your throwout bearing maybe stuck and keeping the clutch from engaging. I have seen both on hondas... either way you need to drop the tranny.

Just a recommendation if you wind up replacing the clutch yourself and you need a new flywheel, as I did: Get the flywheel and pressure plate assembly balanced! I neglected to have mine balanced, and now I get a horrible vibration around 1200 RPM. I'm going to be pulling the transmission back out and getting the flywheel and pressure plate balanced.

x2, i must agree it might be an axle problem - check that it'll be the easiest first if not then you'd have to drop the tranny.

                      i have to say X3

from ur vid i couldn't see if ur speedo was rising when engaged in gear.

IF your speedo rises while engaged in gear its a decent possibilty one of ur axels, (prob the passender side, had 2 cb's do this to me) isn't all the way in the trans. as u engage any gear, ur clutch is makin the transmission move, hence the speedo fluctaion. u may think it is but is not completly lockin in place. i paid a huge tow bill for this simple fix.

IF NOT then its prob not a axel issue. ur cluch disc may have split into a couple diffrent peices. ur pedal should feel about the same since ur only pushing on the pressure plate. mabey time for a new clutch. and check out the flywheel makin sure no peices stayed in one spot too long creating hot spots

if u smelled a wranchy smell from the car right before this happend then its prob more a clutch issue.

                      keep us posted

                      the rebuild!

                          hey

look at the linkage in the car and under the hood , then jack your car up and check your axles , then if that doesnt work put a k24 in it .... haha jk may be the clutch if your axle is popped out a lil bit replace it cause the axle has a lil ring at the end of it that does some time wears out ... ill i can think of
                          CB-K for the win !!!!

Id say its either the axles arent snapped in to hook up with the tranny or the axles bearings are bad. Or the clutch you can smell it if its bad it smells like rotten overcooked egg.

When my axles went bad after i cured my wheelhop problem my axles went and after my axles went my car wouldnt move at all. I would seriously take a look at the axles first and if all else fails clutch.
