ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

A motor out of a Civic will be a waster of time and money.

Sticky regarding some possible engines to swap in:

    1999 BMW M3

Any civic/integra motor will be down grading (includes B20C from early preludes). Hit up a junk yard for another f or try and find a wreck bb4 prelude and take the motor out of it. If you do the civic motor Im not really sure if the stock form would move the LARGER accord around.

anything is possible with money but i wouldnt recommend a civic/teggy swap cuz you have a LOT better torque with a built F22.

id just go on craigslist with like $500 find a busted accord or prelude and buy it then rip out and transplant the motor, thats what im gonna do, maybe since i live so close to Canada i should buy a totalled Skyline and RWD swap my accord and put a RB25DE in my car. lol

                    Anything is possible.

Is it straightforward or a smart thing to do, no.

You'd end up spending more to get a weaker motor into your car than you would finding the appropriate engine.

The Civic and Integra motors would take a total rewire of the car, custom mounts, custom axles, custom fuel lines, and some MAJOR floor surgery to accommodate the rod-operated shifter mechanism, as we have cables in our car.

For what it would cost to put a Civic motor in there (which would move the car just fine... it just wouldn't be a performance upgrade... those newer Civics are nearly as heavy as a CB7 anyway) you could get ANYTHING you want from the list of motors that actually fit. A Prelude Type S or Accord Euro R motor, the most powerful motors you can easily drop into a CB7, would be less expensive than a D17 swap.

www.hmotorsonline.com is a very good source for replacement motors.
