ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Stock Wheel weights Or lite weight Aftermarkets?

Hey anybody Know the weight of the stock 15" alloys?

Im debating on dropping some lite weight aftermarkets on it but dont know where I stand.

Also anybody have any idea of some lite weight inexpensive aftermarket rims four the cb7 lug style.

Just trying to reduce unsprung weight, I ordered a jdm lsd tranny and fidanza to swap in with my h22. I really liked the feel of my last tuner car, 02' focus svt with torsen dif., fidanza and the supercharger made it rev up easy and a blast to drive. Biggest problem I had was that focus wasnt durable compared to a honda.

Thanks, I searched but had no good hits. Although this rim list is pretty old.

Sad story. I bet if you search Google you can find plenty of light weight wheels.

Konig has some lightweight and inexpensive wheels. The irritating thing is that most lightweight wheels in our lug pattern are 17". The 15" wheels are left to the Civics. You want to keep the wheel small so the tire weight isn't all at the extreme edge.

The standard light wheel in this crowd has always been the Rota Slipstream. There are MANY other brands that copy the same design (originally the Desmond Regamaster Evo and Spoon SW388) but Rota is the one most people seem to favor.

As I have... But I was hoping to come across something or someone who may have already done more research.

The availability of 15" light weight rims is ok as long as you have infinite funds to spend on a honda thats 18 years old.

Probably going to end up going with a motegi brand wheel, I like O.Z. Chronos like I had on my Focus but im having difficulty finding them for the accord cheap.

My wheels are no longer made, but if you look hard enough, you can find good quality light ones. Mine are EXACTLY the same weight as the stock Prelude blades I have with stock sized tires. Since the tires I have weigh 21lbs each, then the rim is about 15lbs, because the whole package is 36 per wheel with the tire mounted.

My 17's weigh within 1 lb of that, even with slightly larger 215/45-17 tires.

Also, to some extent Deeve is correct that having the mass centered on the outside of the wheel is detrimental to performance, but overall, if your package comes in at similar weight, you won't notice the difference much. You will noticed increased turn in grip, and response with a lower profile tire versus a low profile one that has a larger sidewall to flex.
The OFFICIAL how to add me to your ignore list thread!

I agree completely, I plan on buying more for performance and less for looks. but Im also looking for rims that will be able to mount r-compound kumhos. I did some track days awhile back and plan on doing more once Im in a better position again..

                Thanks for the input.
