to be honest the f22 tranny is great for gas mileage. the sinkrows are shit at high revs and they just dont do the H22 justice

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Less stronger?
The transmissions on the F22 and H22 are of equal strength. The only difference is the gearing.
F series transmissions on an H22 will give you better gas mileage, and if you go turbo, the longer gears are a good thing. Nothing "sucks"... it just depends on what your needs happen to be.

yea you just lose alot of potential with the F tranny is all, BUT in my opinion if you don't plan on beating on your car on a daily or close to a daily basis you should be fine. Its more of a comfortable ride for long distances in my opinion so if its for a daily driver as well as like a vacation car you should be just fine with an F tranny if you dont mind losing that potential!

'f series' transmission - longer gears, meant for long distance driving, gas mileage, and interstate driving (sucks at starts without launch-control)
'h22 series' transmission - has the shortest gears, meant for sudden starts, getting up to speed quickly (sucks at gas mileage (compared to the f series) on the interstate)
So i guess you could say H - F = Acceleration - Speed & Gas-Lance- (Formally known as H0ndaspyd3rLM)

not at all Deev the f22 tranny is the truth with an h22 when going turbo. Like I mentioned before its a really good set up to have when traveling long distances. Personally I have the h22/h23 tranny and when I'm driving in 5th gear doing 70 my rpm's are at like 3500 I could only imagine what it would be at if I had the h22 tranny that's all I'm saying there are just plenty of factor to think about while doing the swap. Just because someone does an h22 swap with an F22 tranny doesn't mean that later on they cant just switch the tranny over. So whoever said that doing the swap is a waste just because he has an F22 tranny is a fool IMO.

Originally posted by ZmattSo essentially with an F series tranny you get good mpg but bad acceleration and with an H series you get good acceleration but bad mpg.

So would you consider it a good idea to swap to an H22 only and keep the stock tranny? Or what if one were to do a full swap, and then put the stock tranny back in once they got boost?
EDIT:
Another thought, what about an F22 tranny and an F20b? Since it has such a high redline the long gears may go well with it. Has anyone done this?Last edited by Zmatt; 07-26-2009, 10:59 PM.
