ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Smart. A project car makes a lousy daily driver, especially if it's boosted!
I have 3 cars. One is driveable right now. And even THAT needs work!

Compression wizards..what would his compression be??

        H23a engine
        H23a crank
        F22a/h23a bisi rods
        H22a mahle slugs
        H23a head

I'm aware the compression would go up.. but how much so
        Considering the mahles are 9:1..

We'd need to know the compression height on the pistons and the dome cc.

But assuming the CH is the same as the stock H22's, and by taking into account that a USDM h22 pistons(-2cc dome/31mm CH) in an otherwise stock H23 would put you at 11.0-11.6:1 depending on HG. So I'd say close to 10.5:1 or so.

ha.. i figured it would be around that.. i thought closer to 10:1 but regardless.. looks like hes gonna have pretty decent torque band when all said and done..

his original goal was 300wheel.. with that compression i dont see that as being a problem.. at even a mier 10psi

according to this, http://www.importperformanceparts.ne...old-honda.html the pistons are -7cc. That would put the h23 at 10.7:1.

Regardless, 10psi on the correct turbo should make well over 300whp even on 9:1 compression, given the rest of the engine can breathe properly. I think Mike(lodollar) told me he made over 300 on 8psi on 8.x compression(i think).

good shit then.. since the compression is being raised.. obviously its from the pin location being lower on the piston( thus allow for a taller deck height).. now my question is..

will they.. and if they do.. how much... will they come out the cylinder?

They'd stick out .02", just as it does on my H23 vtec. I'd recommend a thicker HG to lower compression and be sure the valves don't touch the pistons due to the different valve reliefs on the pistons.

should i just reuse the factory rods and pistons and just get aftermarket rings. isnt 10 a lil to high for boost?
