ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Help Auto to 5 Speed swap, problems, looking for solutions. W Pics

Hi all looking for some help with this manual conversion im doing, Im from New Zealand doing the swap on a 93 NZ New CB7 which is equivalent to EDM market car,

The car spat the balance shaft seal and im pretty sure the cambelt is snapped there is no compression, have got a replacement motor the old motor was a F22Z1 new motor is F20A5.

The manual swap came from a CB4 JDM 2.0Si with DOHC F20A

Having problems with the gearbox side mount it seems i should have taken the mount off the parts car which is now gone because i stripped it at a local wreckers,

Just looking for the best solution for this problem not sure i can move the auto mount and use it also looks like it will be a tight fit if i move it with the ALB and battery tray being right there.

    The cars chassis tag.

The is the engine from the donor car, its been fully rebuilt by previous owner and has regrind cams but rings did not bed in or i would have used it.

The new engine with manual box mounted and in the hole, box is a H2J4

Left hand side mount is the OEM F22Z1 mount dont suspect it being different.

Rear mount and bracket is the F20A DOHC one from the parts car

The OEM F22Z1 rear mount was quite a lot different looks as though i could have possibly drilled one hole and it would fit.

Right hand side gearbox mount, Note engine is supported with a jack til its more or less level in the bay. Second picture shows what i mean about the clearance between the battery tray and ALB lines though i could likely tweak them out of the way a bit,

I have seen the conversion mount for auto to manual cars which should bolt in not sure if i have the correct rear mount to do it.

Can i move the auto mount on the chassis to the right place or is it a different shape and / or height (which it looks as though it may be sitting a bit high for the manual mount to bolt into once moved)

Dont really want to convert back to auto either.

And yes before someone asks i do have all the JDM parts from the JDM Parts car i

ESP.net, a seller on here, makes an Auto to manual conversion mount kit. I would suggest buying that. Its a direct bolt up to your auto brackets in your engine bay. Thats what I did, just waiting on the mounts and I'll be going 5spd very soon. The only thing you'd need is a DX/LX rear bracket, but I'm not sure what the equivalent DX/LX trim is in NZ.

I have seen that mount it does look good but im not sure what rear mount i need weather the one i have is correct or not,

If i take it out and photograph it is there some marking on it or could someone compare it to the mount supposed to be used in conjunction with the ESP auto to manual mount.

That mount is $170NZ plus shipping here and i needed this done like 3 days ago really so the shipping time on it is also going to suck but i could put everything together get it done and working then slide the mount in and be done as soon as it arrives i suppose.

Need to have a talk to my safety inspection guys about using a non OEM mount some inspectors would probably fail it just because its not OEM (some of them are total tossers) even though its built better could be another problem i have with using that mount.

most people just go with the rear mount & bracket from the base CB. which in the US is the DX

also for the tranny you can use the 5th gen accord MT trannay mount as a temp. one. or even the 92-96 prelude MT one too

Are you talking about the mount on the gearbox to bolt up to the factory AT Body mount or temporary weld in a MT CD accord or 4th gen lude one onto the body?

I took the liberty of taking some shots of the correct rear mount that you'd need for the ESP kit, LX/DX 5spd, since I had the trans just sitting in my garage for the time being until my ESP mounts come in the mail:

              hope that helps

I mean the gearbox mount by the front right fender. get the one off a 94-96 USDM accord 5spd or off the 92-95 prelude 5spd.

if you do you wont have to weld anything

No USDM cars here but looked into a JDM one and it was nowhere near fitting the gearbox tried it on a CB box at the local wreckers.
