ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

well a while back i was driving my cb7 in the snow and i slide into a curb going about 30 40 (not to smart I know) but anywayz i ended up having to replace my sub frames in the front since i was on a budget i was getting parts at the junk yard and sorta putting the pieces of the puzzle together long story short i ended up having to replace the passenger side spindle as well but i couldnt find one with abs and all the right screw holes so i ended up getting one from a 94 or 95 not to sure i couldnt get the axle off due to lack of toolz so i just took it as well i put everything back together with the newly bought old cv and it turned out that the cv was shot (click clacking) so i was wondering are all 90-97 cv axles interchangeable the ones with abs that is or if not which ones are im not sure if a 93 axle will fit in a 94 95 hub am i just stuck with a frankenstine of a car i have an AT by the way

But anywayz i ended up having to replace my sub frames in the front. Since i was on a budget i was getting parts at the junk yard and sorta [had to] put the pieces of the puzzle together.

Long story short i ended up having to replace the passenger side spindle as well but i couldn't find one with abs and all the right screw holes. So i ended up getting one from a 94 or 95 (not to sure). [Also] I couldn't get the axle off due to lack of toolz so i just took it as well.

I put everything back together with the newly bought old cv and it turned out that the cv was shot (click clacking). So i was wondering are all 90-97 cv axles interchangeable? The ones with abs that is, or if not which ones are?

I'm not sure if a 93 axle will fit in a 94 95 hub. Am i just stuck with a
frankenstine of a car? I have an AT by the way
    FIXED:

PLEASE please use spaces, the enter key, periods, commas, capitalization, and form paragraphs...PLEASE! That was very difficult to read.

I have some questions. So you put this JY axle and spindle on your car? As in this non-abs axle and non-abs spindle from the 94-95 car are on your 93 abs cb7? Is that correct?

The only difference between abs and non abs cv axles are that abs axles have a ring gear which the abs uses to determine if the wheel is spinning or not.

I do not know if the 90-97 axles are the same...they may be...I know the spindles are the same...I just don't know if the axles are longer/shorter. If the newer jy spindles went into the tranny then they should...which is why I asked the question I asked.

OP, just because it fits in the tranny doesn't mean it's compatible lengthwise. It's possible it could fit in the trammy but not be the correct length. That's what you need to find out--are those axles the same length as the ones for the 93.

simple way is to call the parts store and ask if they are the same part number.

right ...which was what I said ...sorta. I'm thinking they are the same...but I've not held the two axles from those years so I don't wanna say for sure.

The trannies are the same...but that doesn't matter...just making sure the op knows that.

        OOO...Lemme check rockauto.com and majestics website...brb
part #'s on the axles aren't same...but that don't mean anything. course the part #'s they use on the web site are NOT the same that they actually use...I know that for a fact.

Very very hard to read but

I hit the curb too..Your spindle bent? My didn't but Lower Control arm, Sway Bar and Radius Rod were bend.

To take out CV AXLE all you need is a pry bar ($6 @ home depot) and ply it between the tranny and axle. It should come right off.

If i were you i would buy new axle they about $50-70 at local part store

ABS Ring look like this on the axle

that the only different between ABS and Non ABS axle

Yes the cv axle i got from the junkyard was from another abs, so your saying that the axle i plan on ordering (with abs) will fit because i plan on buying one from the same year as my car 93 and just wanted to make sure that it would fit into the newer year spindle, also when i held the cv together they were the same length according to my eyes.

i got pics of the damage if anyone would like to see lol
