ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

Yes, you can swap another F22a_ in your DX. I'd recommend getting a P12 ECU out of an F-series Prelude. $500 is a little steep compared to prices around here, but if it seems like a good deal to you, go for it.

yes you can put any of those engines in, the one where you would be recommended a computer change is the a6 because of iabs in the intake manifold, the a6 will be in the se's and ex's. and 500 dollars is a decent price, its about the best your gonna get from a junkyard at least where i'm at, only way to get a better deal i know is friends or buy one thats broke down or totaled. also if you go with the a6 iys 140 hp vs the 125 of your dx, or if you go with what was said above and get the p12 ecu from an f22 prelude, that would bring it from 125 to 135.

ok so all the wireing will fit right up, no matter which engine i buy,

          great.

yah that does seem a bit high but its all i can find around here, how much should it be for a fairly new 130k motor

and done u think i could install it myself, it doesnt seem that hard as long as you get everything out of the way.

A "fairly new" 16-20 year old engine? Hmmmm.... interesting.

Have you checked CL for some? Someone may be selling their F after completing an engine swap.

Because it's really smart to take your 20 year old car to 120mph

The DX has the F22A1 in it, just like the LX. The 90-91 EX has the F22A4, which is identical to the F22A1 other than the exhaust manifold. The F22A6 requires some extra wiring for the intake manifold stuff to work.

Ultimately, the engine blocks are all the same. It's just what's bolted to them that makes them different.

How often are you in need for getting to 120mph? No drag strip you go to will allow enough space for you to reach 120mph.

Unless, of course, you're referring to street racing.

Not smart, but at least it's a better reason than trying to race the kid in the Sunfire in the other lane! I remember when my dad's stomach exploded (literally... 8 aspirin at a time for weeks on end will do that...) I'm sure I drove like a maniac to get to the hospital as well!

Especially since I had to go to his work to pick a doctor for him through his insurance, or they woulnd't treat him!

And a quarter mile track would allow for 120mph... you just need to improve the car a bit first

Yes. The P12 will give you 10-15 hp.

The Prelude's F22A1 is identical to the F22A1 in the Accord. The ECU is different, as well as the intake and exhaust piping... but the piping shouldn't make that much of a difference... therefore, the 10hp difference between the Prelude and Accord is attributed mainly to the P12 ECU.
