ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

DSM build w/ Big 16g turbo

My build on my f22 motor. Coming Soon. Have all the parts
    big 16G turbo
    2g Manifold.
    560cc injectors
    255 walbro fuel pump
    HKS SSQV BOV
    FMIC
    dual core RAD
    stealthmode oil lines
    Chipped p06 ecu
    Crome tune

How many lbs of boost has someone with the same setup ran on a big 16g and stock internals? I know the stock boost is like 12lbs or so.
    lemme know.

Is your engine stock?? I would'nt go higher than 10lbs on an engine that has been fighting for 18 years.

Some people on here I believe are pushing 18lbs or more on their setups. Don't quote me on that though.

Nothing inside is being touched. My car only has 108K on it. This stock wastegate setting for the big 16g is either 12 or 13. Is there a way to bring it down below that? Boost controller? I've heard people talking about having trouble going below stock boost.

A boost controller would work. Or if you can use an external wastegate with the turbo instead (that would be even better than the stock internal)

It's possible to run at 12 or 13psi... but you'd want to tune it VERY carefully, and make sure you don't beat on it too often. Also, even though your mileage is low, make sure your motor is in good shape before you boost.

I would start out with around 10psi and concentrate on tuning as well as making your engine breathe well. You can lower the boost by cutting the wastegate arm, then threading it and putting a nut on it. That way you will be able to adjust the length of the arm. A boost controller can only raise boost(correct me if i am wrong)
You can definitely run more psi though, but it depends on your tune and how long you want it to last.

well its getting tuned right after i am done the build. I'm not driving it w/o the tune. The motor is in great shape. I just wanted to lower my boost to about 8-10 to make it last and be reliable.

I ran 11 pounds on mine for a while with a 14b with the internal and didnt have any problems at all. As long as you are tuned decently I wouldnt worry about 12 pounds at all really. Personally though I'm going on my second turbo build and am going with an external wastegate just so I can start at 8punds or so and move up from there via boost controller.
