ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

suspension from and old d series on my cb7?

so i know someone who is selling a kyb/ksport shock/spring setup off his eg hatch and i was wondering if it would work on my 91 accord sedan without and major modification.

what is with all these new people in wanting to buy suspension for other cars and putting on the cb?

the spring rate for the cb is different for the eg. the EG is a lighter car and will have your ride bouncy. your car weighs between 2900-3200lbs compared to the EG's 2200-2500lbs. DONT DO IT

x2^ You definitely don't want to compromise the suspension on your car, riding with incorrect/blown shocks/springs is never a good idea, not to mention dangerous. There's plenty of places you can get a good suspension setup for our cars for a decent price you just need to look around. If you're not going to do it right, don't do it at all.
Still hustlin that Old Skool.......it never ends.

What the hell does engine series and suspension have to do with one another?

A Civic may have swapped in an H22. Just because we can also use the H22 doesn't mean we can use the suspension components from the Civic.

so you are saying that even tho the ksport springs are stiffer the are not stiff enough for a cb.... right. its not like i'm trying to put stock EF suspension on there.

its very simple. if you have a civic, you buy parts for a civic. if you have an accord, you buy parts for an accord. you dont buy volkswagen parts for your chevy truck, why would you buy civic parts for an accord.

i just swapped out my old crap and put in monroe quick struts from advanced autoparts i paid 266 for the rear and 280 for the front did the work myself like always and now my car is riding smooth. i also replaced the upper control arms, ball joints, tie rods ( inner and outer) all stock

i also put acura cl 2.3l front hubs and bearings on my 92 cb7 lx
                  stock calipers, brake pads

but i would NEVER PUT A CIVIC suspension on a cb!!!

ITS NOT CIVIC SUSPENSION! is kyb shocks/struts with ksport springs. its fit for a civic, but that doesnt make it civic suspension. it may still be softer than if it were purpose for a cb but it's still going to be a higher spring rate than stock. and he wants 350 for all, which is a hell of alot better than the 200/corner or what ever it would be new. believe me just because im new to this forum doesnt mean im new to cars.

So it's not Civic suspension, but it's suspension for a Civic?

Is it just me, or does that not make any sense at all?

Check the spring rates, see how much lower they are than the avg. Accord setup. My guess is the spring rates will be quite different, but you never know. Maybe its a super stiff setup?

GUY you dont take bicycle tires and put them on your motorcycle so why take a aftermarket suspension designed for a civic and put them on a accord....Are you getting these analogies?

Your comparison is not even close to accurate. A good place to start would be checking spring rates.

Find out the springs rates. Run them if they are on par with the same accord part.

Civic springs fit on accords just fine. THe only difference is the drop, since civic springs are a lot shorter. A 1" drop on a civic would probably be 2"+ on an accord.

The shocks...that's more of a concern than the springs. I wouldn't run civic shocks at all.
