ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    headgasket blew? need new head

i blew my head gasket and the shop told me the head needs to be rebuilt for $1200 i got the head gasket repaired but need a head really soon. I found a rebuild f22b2 head on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HONDA...Q5fAccessories) for 250 but was wondering whats the best (direct bolt) head to go with the f22b2 besides the stock one? thanks

Go with the stock head, you have to change many things to put the f22b2 head on. You could also use a JDM F22B DOHC head without changing anything.

what do have to change? shouldnt be a straight swap cuz right now i have f22b2 with stock head right now. so the ebay should just bolt up without any changes or am i wrong?

so you have an f22b2 block and f22b2 head? what "stock head" do you have? if you already have the f22b2 engine in the car, then the f22b2 head will fit with no changes needed. just clarify for us what engine you have in the car so that we know what will fit.

250 is a really good price. at the machine shops that i worked at, we'd charge over 280 for all services.

I use car-part.com for all my heads/cams/etc. I can find good heads for under $200 plus you can go look at it before you buy.

wait........just because you blow a head gasket DOESNT mean you have to replace the head, correct? just replace the head gasket and use the original head unit.

99% of the time the surface either isnt straight/true or corroded.

yea the head had a gap and is corroded and needs to be rebuild. I check around and the labor came out to be around $500 to $700. Right now my car is a 95 lx with stock engine f22b2. MY idea was just to swap a jdm dohc f22b2, that cost around 700 shipped complete.
