ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Biggest tires on stock rims?

This winter I'm going to pull a old subaru trick of mine and put the biggest tires I can fit on the accord along with wagon struts. My goal is 2-3" and there will be no axle strain since the hubs will stay the same.

I'm thinking a set of Goodyear Allegras. I have had a ton of fun with them in the past. Anyone know off hand biggest tires without rolling fenders?

I would try something with a width of about 195 and a height of 60 or larger.

I put oversize tires on my subaru last winter and they were 1/4 an inch from rubbing the bottom strut cap. I'm thinking Goodyear Allegras as the sidewall ripple helps a ton when SHTF. I'm aiming to make my car higher this winter to combat getting stuck. I'm leaving stock suspension until I can get a poly busking kit and swap everything out as my bushings are worn. Of course this may very well be until next summer as it is July all ready and I have a transmission going in.

i wouldnt run goodyear allegras if you paid me to. thats a walmart tire that goodyear produces for them. if your running a 15 inch wheel i would suggest a 205/60/15. thats fairly wide and its still tall. of course some tires are wider than others because there is no standard as to where the manufacturer measures from for the width. could be shoulder to shoulder, could be bead to bead. make sense? i am a salesman at discount tires and could give you some recommendations if you need.

You can fit a 205 wide no problems, I'd say a 60/65 for height.

They'll fit, but will affect steering and handling (i.e. less precise, less responsive, more sloppy...) because even the stock 195 tyre size is really too wide for the stock 5.5" wheel width, let alone 205...

For 205 tyres you really want at least a 6.5" wheel rim, and preferably 7".

What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

It's not about looks (or it shouldn't be), it's about what maximises the tyre's potential, or at least doesn't actually compromise it's performance. Why buy good tyres only to fit them to wheels that cause them to behave like bad tyres?

At any rate, aesthetically they don't look OK to me, they look way too wide for the wheel...
