Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Spring Question

    So I got these ebay coilovers, Can I use the original shocks?.....J/K!! Ok for real, my front driver side spring is broken. It sounds like a retard humping when i'm driving down the road, and I can feel the steering knuckle catching on it at times when I turn left. Will springs off of any other car besides a cb fit and ride ok. I'm broke as hell and planned on going to pick n pull. Curious if I can pull em off any other cars? Thanks!

        The ebay coilover question was just a poor attempt at humor Frosty...I don't have them, everything is stock. I don't plan on getting them. If I grab one from the pnp should I grab both? I don't wanna be sittin sideways. Thanks

          Yeah I would grab both, that way the front would more or less have the same amount of sag.

            CB7 and CD5 suspensions are interchangable. I've heard that there may be a very small difference in spring rate between CB7 and CD5, but I'm not certain and it wouldn't matter if you replaced both springs. If coil wire diameter and number of coils are the same then the springs will be the same rate (a quite small difference in wire diameter will have a fairly large effect, so this dimension especially needs to be the same spring to spring).

            Unequal spring 'free length' will affect spring pre-load (and ride height). Ideally, only fit springs (at an axle line) that are within a few mm of each other in free length. Having said that, if one spring is a little shorter than the other it is possible to shim the upper spring seat to account for the difference.

              x2...be sure to check autozone/oreilly/etc...prices before going to the junk yard...ones around me charge more for old parts than what new ones cost.
