ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I worked on autozone and used the autozone CV. They are shit and do not resurface the CVs and use worn parts. They just pop in new bearings/grease/boot and ship it to you. I had a axle separate and tear the shit out of a trans in a corolla.

Autozone used to carry aftermarket ceramic brakes for CHEAP, now they phased them out and charge $20 more for the Duracrap brand. Stay away from valuecraft by any means and duracrap only when you need to unless it is new.

good as long as the boots are intact? So when the boots fail your warranty goes out the window?

the boots cracking and opening are what usually causes axles to go out...this doesn't seem to be a good warranty as the MAIN cause of axles being worn is boot failure...so they don't actually cover the main cause of failure.

And once you realize the boots are going out it's too late...you won't know really until they do tear...maybe you would see them cracking but...not likely

Yup, if your boots go, no more warranty. Might as well forget the warranty on axles at least at autozone. They might of changed this from 2 yrs ago so it may be different now. Brakes are kick ass to get a lifetime warranty on, pickup ceramics.

do not buy Cardone! I had two go in a period of about 3 weeks. The boots are WAY too cheaply made, they both tore in the same spot, developed kinda a slit in between the bends of the boot. Get EMPI axles if you can.

just compare the boot quality to an old OEM one and you'll notice the diff. immediately. If you can, get an OEM one and you won't need to replace it for another 100K guaranteed. EMPI axles in comparison to OEM are pretty much identical, boot wise.

Hmm I'll have to remember that. I got an EMPI axle from my local parts chain for the girl's Civic, it was $60 brand new. Can't beat that. I asked if they had remans and they said no, only carried new.

On a side note, I believe my passenger axle is still the original, I bought the car with 114K and it now has 193K, I replaced the boots when I rebuilt my front end cuz they were dryrotted. So thats a testament to the durability of OEM Honda axles.
