ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Synchro. As in Synchronizer.

If you shift and it grinds, that's a possibility. 3rd is a common one to go out. Replace your fluid with the proper amount of authentic Honda synthetic MTF and see if it helps. If not, your options are to rebuild, replace, or deal with it until it's undrivable.

While shifting from 1st to 2nd, stop in neutral and pump the clutch pedal a few times. If this helps, the problem may be in the hydraulic system.

You're going to need a funnel with a long hose attached. The fill hole is on the top of the transmission.

And when you get an H22 trans, you'll need to know how to fill it!

And yeah, replacing the transmission will most likely fix the problem. However, I would strong recommend replacing the master and slave cylinders, as well as the clutch and flywheel when you do the transmission.

To put fluid in you have to take out the reverse light switch and ill it from there with 2 quarts. Im not really sure if you can over fill it but I think thats what happens to most of these trannys is that they lose oil over time and people dont know it.

rather than simply adding fluid, just drain it completely... add the proper amount of brand new Honda fluid.

This is my old car guys. Master cylinder is brand new, slave is brand new, clutch is brand new, flywheel is brand new. He wont need to replace any of that. The tranny grinds 2nd and 3rd due to bad syncro's. The tranny is also freshly refilled with brand new Honda fluid which fixed the grinds a little. It was a cheap ass tranny to get my car on the road when the auto went out on me. He'll be alright once he gets a new one.
