ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I believe all you would need is the cam.

Well if you have the A6 IM you should get the A6 ECU so the IM can function properly.

He said he has a PT6 already, unless that was a typo. Adding the A6 cam will only make things work closer to the right way.

An F22A6 is identical to the F22A1 and F22A4, aside from the cam, intake manifold, ECU, windage tray, exhaust manifold, and valve springs. In other words, the castings are identical, as are the internals.

My bad, I assumed from the way he worded his first post that he had the stock A4 ecu.

from what i heard the block from an a1 is the same but diff (from the a6) only because the a6 comes stock with an oiler cooler. i believe thats correct?

Yep, the cam will just complete your setup to be what the PT6 was designed for OEM.

                  On a side note:
When I ran the H23 IM & PT6 ecu BEFORE putting in the a6 cam, I got exceptional fuel mileage. Better than all original LX with P03 & better than after installing the a6 cam.

I've heard mixed reviews of the PT6 on an F22A1. Maybe the manifold is what does it... I think the few people I've talked to that had bad gas mileage the PT6 were running it without the intake manifold (which really doesn't do anything worthwhile for them).

Has anyone ran an a6 motor with a pt3 & a1/a4 intake manifold?

Basically an A1 with an A6 cam...

There would be no reason to downgrade the A6, but an A1 with an A6 cam would still probably see a minor gain...

Really, you're looking at MAYBE $150 to $200 for a full A6 conversion... it's really not a big deal to do it all at once.

you dont need the ecu just take the butterflies out of the IM all together it will flow better.

^^ And you can kiss your low end torque goodbye! The butterflies don't really become a restriction till over 7k rpms.
