ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

that boot goes on the rack...and that outter part is your outter tie rod end, the rack connects to it which connects to your wheel...which turns the wheel.
The boot you see is actually the boot for the rack, if you do not have any leaks you can replace just the boost...easy...cheap. But you will have to get past the bj.
Considering the age of your car you need to replace the tie rod's ball joint. I don't know if you can get just the ball joint or if you have to get the whole arm...but it's a VERY good idea to replace it AND all your ball joints. If ANY of your ball joints fail...you WILL wreck and it will be a pretty nasty wreck too.
You WILL need an alignment if you replace the tie rods or remove them...so go ahead and be safe, replace that boot and do all bj's and get the alignment afterwards.____

It's not that hard to get the tie rod ball joint out. You need to buy a new tie rod. I would do it to both sides since you are going to get an alignment any way.
I used the pitman pull I borrowed from Autozone with the 3/8" ratchet driver.
Since the tie rod arms come with pregrease boots you are ok.
If you are really careful, 4 hours job tops.

i just changed my not long ago, its pretty easy if u know what u doing, i got them at advanced auto parts, the hardest part is the vac hose on driver side, just work around it, if u dont have any problem with ur front end, just change the boots, its call rack and pinion boots, all u have to do remove outter tie rod make sure u mark how many turns, and remove the old boots, slide the new one in that's it

1.5 hrs tops. easy job. What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.
You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!
Retro!

I love nooBs...They make me look good
