ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

is a h22 tranny worth putting on your f22a1

like the tittle says. is the tranny offof a h22 worth putting on a f22a1? and does it give it a little more power.

    #2
it doesnt give you more power. just better acceleration. the H gears are built for acceleration. but it'll kill your gas mileage tho. sitting at 36oo-04k RPMs at 70mph will kill the gas.

H22 is the shorest geared trans we can swap into the cb, then the H23 is the second shortest followed by the F22b1( sohc vtec), then last but not least the Long Geard mofo, the f22a trans.

Almost correct. You forgot the Euro R or ATR transmissions. Those are the shortest.

Depends on what your goal is. In my 10 second all motor Civic, I run an even shorter modified Euro R trans with a 4.64 final drive. It tops out around 130 depending on tire sizing. For an all motor aplication this is pretty bad ass. My GF uses almost the same tranny but with a 4.71 final drive.

Yes, Accord type R. They were made from 98-02... like the Euro R Accords. The ATR has a different 5th than the Euro R. They are pretty damn hard to get a hold of.

The F20b uses a t2t4 trans which has the same gearing as the 5th gen preludes.

if the trans (h22) has shorter gears , does that make the mpg bad on an h22 ?

You'll only get bad gas mileage if you're untuned.

I've managed to keep 30+mpg on all H22 trans equipped cars I've tuned, regardless of motor setup.
