ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

According to what I see in the service manual it says 24k miles or 24 months.

Here is a link to the online manual.

    Hope this helps.

If your using basic NGK or Denso spark plugs I would say every 30K it never hurts to check them though. I have been using platnum NGK's changing every 50k with no problems. I change out the platnum plugs on chevrolets and fords that have 100K miles on them and they are a little worn but still work fine (I work for the government and they are cheap with fleet maitence)

Personally I only use NGK, but Denso should be good also. I clean and check my spark plugs every oil change for the most part. I've been using the same NGK platinums for 40k miles so far without any problems.

autozone and oreilly have ngk, they aren't expensive.

Honda wants way too much for ngk's.

DO NOT use bosch...I had brand new ones be bad...on mine and a customer's car.

As easy as it is to change the plugs on these cars, I don't see any need to use the long lasting platinums, etc. The plain vanilla NGK or Denso plugs will be the best. When the center electrode loses it's sharp edges, it's time to change.

not changing your plugs results in a more rich condition...roast your cat a little more but no damage to the engine

Too rich can cause sludge and carbon buildup on the head, which can lead to damage... but it's not as dangerous as a lean condition.

And yeah, I've never had luck with Bosch. NGK and Denso are just fine. Don't be swayed by gimmicks... plugs aren't going to give you any more power. Get what's right for your engine, and it'll work properly.
